  • I have a 2004 Hyundai Sonata LX that I bought about two years ago for $4000. I live in Massachusetts and the car has a bit of rust on it (okay quite a bit of it) but I've been pretty happy with it otherwise. Recently, my car was hit by a hit and run driver while the car was parked outside my house. Luckily, the neighbors got the person's license plate number and so I'm in the process of filing a claim under her insurance. The adjuster came out and looked at my car and estimated the repairs to total $1500, but he did note that there was rust on the car, and I imagine the insurance company might try to give me a bit less for that reason. The part of the car that is damaged is the rear bumper and quarter panel (that panel is completely rust free-- The rust is all on the bottom and a few spots around the sunroof that I've tried to cover up but have only managed to slow down the spread...)

Pros: Ultra Smooth at highway speedsCons: Blind spot is tricky Advice: Put it at the top of your test drive listI purchased own a 2004 Hyundai Sonata LX 6 cylinder model in October of 2004, and am celebrating my first anniversary with it.... 12,000 miles later it's just like the day I bought it.I was a die hard Honda/Toyota fan, but the high price demands of these brands made it necessary for me to consider other imports. Based on reviews at the time and the experiences of friends who own Santa Fe'and Elantras i went to my local Hyunai dealer and paid under $18,000.00 for a car full of features, comfort, and a great warranty. There are only a couple of things I do not like 1 The suspension feels hard on sudden bumps in the road.2 The auto transmission is occasionaly sluggish in switching gears. ( then again, every car has its traits). It is definitely alot of car for the money...and pretty damn good mileage for a 6. I will remain a loyal Hyundai customer as long as they keep putting out great cars for the money.
