  • The 2008 Suzuki Forenza Wagon comes equipped with a two-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 127 horsepower and 131 lb-ft of torque. The engine pairs with a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic. The engine performs rather respectfully when paired with the five-speed manual, making passing cars on the freeway and city driving a breeze. However, power drops significantly with the automatic, making passing on the freeway quite difficult.

Bringing all the faults to a head, poor safety equipment appears in the 2008 Forenza Wagon. The Forenza offers front side-impact airbags and four-wheel disc brakes. Anti-lock brakes remain optional with the Convenience Package.

  • The back seat is a different story. It offers plenty of leg, shoulder, and headroom for the passengers. Cargo space totals 19.3 cubic feet. The back seat split-folds, allowing you to expand the cargo area to a large 61.8 cubic feet, better than some of its competitors. However, cargo space does not provide enough of an incentive to buy the 2008 Suzuki Forenza Wagon, especially if you want a cabin that feels like it can stand the test of time.

The 2008 Forenza rides rough on bumpy roads, accompanied by a lot of engine and wind noise. Its 16-valve four-cylinder suffers on acceleration, particularly with the automatic. The lack of side curtain airbags, even as an option, is a glaring drawback. But for college students or recent grads, it's a viable city car, thanks to its low price, spacious interior, and long-term warranty. Though it doesn't quite compete in terms of overall refinement with its compact sedan competitors, the 2008 Forenza gets you where you want to go with minimal fuss.
