  • How to replace lower control arm bushing on a Honda Accord. I used a Tungsten Carbide bit for the Dremel, for cutting the rubber of the Bushing and to cut the outer ring of the Bushing. To press the rubber after I had made holes, I used a press, which is available at major Auto parts Stores.

    Replacing Lower Control Arm and Ball Joint. Learn how to replace a lower control arm with the lower ball joint. I show the process in a 95 ford windstar but it is similar in many different makes and models. This is a single arm control arm with a strut bar for support. A wishbone lower control arm will be similar minus the strut bar.

    I don't know why it didn't occur to me while filming, but you won't be able to get the LCA to pivot with a prybar when the sway bar endlink is still attached.

    Also, you don't absolutely need to torque the LCA bolts, but it's my personal preference to do so.

    Yes, a lift makes this much easier, but obviously isn't necessary either.

The procedure to replace the lower control arm is the same for both the left and right side. In these pictures we will be alternating between the left and right side.
