You don’t have to rush into test day. Don’t take the test until you get all of your practice test questions correct. That way, you will be certain to pass the official test at the SC DMV. When you sit for the official test, you will feel like you are retaking a test that you have already taken multiple times. That will make the process much easier. If you’re ready to pass your SC DMV Road Signs Test, get started with this practice test. It will make your official test a breeze.
When you successfully complete the course, you will be given a Pre-licensing Course Certificate (MV-278). If you complete a high school or college driver education course, you will receive a Driver Education Certificate (MV-285), and you do not need a Pre-licensing Course Certificate. You must have one of these certificates to schedule your road test. You must bring the original certificate to your road test to turn in to the license examiner.
Your Pre-licensing Course Certificate is valid for one year from the date it is issued. A Driver Education Certificate is valid for two years. If your Pre-licensing Course Certificate expires, you must complete the course again to receive the certificate required to schedule a road test.
If you need more instructions before you log on, please read What You Need for Your Road Test.
Due to the number of road tests conducted, you may have to wait several weeks to take your road test. Please take this into consideration when scheduling your road test.
