  • How likely is it to have an OBDll trouble code of p0011 & p0021 plus p0420 which indicates both L&R CMP throwing a failure code. Also the p0420 (catalyst sys. below threshold). Can these codes be related? I have been scratching my head over this. I do have a 2011 Subaru service/ repair manual on CD, I can not find the ohm value for the intake cam sensor. Is there a way to test it's value , or in other words is there a range I should be looking for? BTW my car has all the symptoms you described in your post "Symptoms of a bad camshaft position sensor. Thanks in advance, Bud

The symptoms of a bad cam sensor for a Ford Taurus include poor acceleration, "lumpy" idle meaning the car will jostle, kick and or sputter while idling. It will show all of the same symptoms as a bad catalytic converter but without the rotten eggs smell coming from the exhaust.

What Are the Symptoms of a Bad Camshaft Sensor?

As automobiles become more complex, they depend on their operational sensors, such as the camshaft sensor, to monitor rotational speeds and assist the on-board computer. When the camshaft sensor malfunctions, it can affect the vehicle's performance, from engine speed to fuel economy. The camshaft sensor is an integral part of the engine's operating system, and losing its functionality can be the tip of the iceberg for greater engine failure. Knowing the symptoms of a bad camshaft sensor can help a mechanic navigate the often complex systems of ignition and engine performance.
